UNIC Opened Course on Superdiversity starting in October 2024 – registrations open!

What makes European societies superdiverse? How do organisations – e.g. in the educational field – respond to processes of diversification? What research questions are diversity researchers currently working on and which theoretical concepts and methods are they using to address them? We will explore these questions in the online course Superdiversity. Theoretical Perspectives and Current Research Topics. This UNIC Opened Course takes place weekly in a virtual format each Monday, 10-12 am (CET) from 7 October 2024 until 27 January 2025. BA and MA students from all UNIC universities are welcome to join!

The interdisciplinary course provides an overview of the subject area of superdiversity. It is led by Dr. Daniel Schumann and Prof. Dr. Henrike Terhart (Ruhr University Bochum) and includes a variety of international guest lectures from leading scholars of diversity and inclusion from UNIC‘s upcoming Joint Master’s programme Superdiversity in Education, Organisations and Society (SEOS). In addition to the guest lectures, we will reflect on key concepts used in diversity research and discuss different empirical approaches.

To register and for further inquiries, please contact Daniel Schumann (daniel.schumann@ruhr-uni-bochum.de) by 3 October 2024. Places are offered on a first come, first serve basis.
