Teachers should be sensitised to the challenges and opportunities of virtual exchange and develop international and intercultural competences.
The UNIC Alliance considers the intercultural learning of teachers as an important aspect in internationalising higher education. UNIC teacher trainings focus on virtual exchange and intercultural collaborative teaching and learning. Aiming to support our teachers at all partner universities, we conduct trainings for every university locally, as well as trainings which are composed of internationally mixed teacher groups.
UNIC offers a variety of options to develop your skills.
During the workshop ‘Introduction to Virtual Exchange’ teachers get to know the basic principles of Virtual Exchange and make first reflections on how to integrate these elements into their own teaching design. An emphasize lies on the creation of tasks for comparative analyses and collaborative learning of the students as well as on the support of students’ intercultural learning.
During the workshop ‘Intercultural Dialogue’ teachers learn about intercultural co-teaching and intercultural collaborative learning in an internationally mixed group. The intercultural encounter of the teachers is used to reflect on their own experiences and beliefs about intercultural collaboration.
During the workshop ‘Virtual Exchange concrete’ teachers work in form of an application factory on their own ideas, which they present and discuss in a small group. Previous participation in the introduction is required.
