The UNIC Series of Open Entrepreneurship Courses “Global Entrepreneurship and Innovation Nexus” (GEIN) is your gateway to hands-on experience, interdisciplinary collaboration, and cutting-edge knowledge.

Expand your Entrepreneurship horizon through open courses across different UNIC universities. Together, they offer you the flexibility to explore technology-based, social, and emerging forms of entrepreneurship — fully online, across Europe.


These courses are open to Bachelor, Master, and PhD students from all UNIC partner universities.


You can visit one course or choose several courses. You will receive a UNIC certificate for participation and if applicable ECTS, by arrangement with your home faculty.





1. Technology Entrepreneurship (at Ruhr University Bochum)


Open for 5 UNIC Students – Starting October 2025


Term: Winter Semester 2025/2026  (The course will be offered again in the summer semester 2026)

Lecturers: Prof. Dr. Stefanie Bröring, Dr. Vivian Peuker-Steinhäuser, Lev Kalishchuk

Format: Fully online, including final assessment (remote option for UNIC students abroad)

  • Fundamentals of technology entrepreneurship
  • Trend analysis & customer journey mapping
  • Technology evaluation & patent data analysis
  • Business model design with canvas & value proposition

2. Academy of Entrepreneurship (at University of Lodz)


Flexible online format

 

Originally designed for University of Lodz students, this academy is now open to all! In collaboration with the Siostry ADiHD (ADHD Sisters) — alumnae who started their first business as students — you’ll get unique insights into the entrepreneurial journey.

3. Social Entrepreneurship (at University of Zagreb)


Online course with weekly virtual classes


Starting: 23.02.2026, End date: 05.06.2026.

Dive into the world of social entrepreneurship and innovation. This course gives you the tools to design, finance, and evaluate sustainable social enterprises.


Content highlights:

  • Social change & the role of entrepreneurs
  • Design thinking for social innovation
  • Recognizing market opportunities for impact
  • Financing models: crowdfunding, impact investing, venture philanthropy
  • Measuring social impact with tools like SROI and scorecards
  • Business Model Canvas for social enterprises


✔ Learn to design sustainable social business models
✔ Collaborate in teams on real-world projects
✔ Gain both theoretical knowledge and applied skills


Assessment: 60% individual test + 40% team project

4. Entrepreneurship and Emerging Technologies (at University of Oulu)


Flexible online format – 2025/26 academic year


Explore entrepreneurship in the context of blockchain and emerging technologies. This course combines entrepreneurial skills with applied business case studies.


Structure:

  • Part I: Introduction to blockchain as a business enabler
  • Part II: Business case analysis methods
  • Part III: Applied blockchain-enabled business case study


✔ Learn how to analyze and model business opportunities
✔ Develop problem-solving skills in real tech-driven contexts
✔ Gain practical experience with ecosystemic business modeling tools


Assessment: Written case analysis report (graded 1–5 / Fail)

The registrations for courses 1, 2 and 3 run via the UNIC Virtual CampusPortal search for “open online courses”. For course 4 please register via  UNIC Oulu Course Registration | University of Oulu


  • After the acceptance of participation, enroll via the respective university’s Moodle/learning platform.
  • Receive a UNIC certificate! Please contact your home faculty to clarify if an additional ECTS recognition is possible.
