It aims to make visible the local government's commitment to applying basic principles and objectives in managing religious diversity contained in a Charter. It also provides the municipalities with a set of tools and resources to improve their daily management of this reality. This project is an initiative of the Public Foundation of the Spanish Government to deal with religious diversity in collaboration with the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces with the support of the Human Rights Institute of the University of Deusto (https://www.pluralismoyconvivencia.es/nuestro-trabajo/mejora-de-la-gestion-publica-de-la-diversidad-religiosa/municipios-por-la-tolerancia/) 20 municipalities all over Spain are already working on this project with the University of Deusto. Bilbao City Council is one of the members of the project, and the Human Rights Institute of the University supports and organises the Coordination body of religious diversity of the municipality of Bilbao.
