About the UNIC Series of Open Entrepreneurship Courses

The UNIC series provides a comprehensive and dynamic learning experience tailored to the diverse interests and needs of students across ten UNIC universities. Offering both online and onsite courses, this program allows participants to build their own entrepreneurial journey by selecting specialized modules that align with their goals.

The series is offered in the context of "UNIC Thematic Line 5 - Entrepreneurial Learning for Innovation".

Technology Entrepreneurship Module at RUB

Term: Summer Semester 2025

Lecturers: Prof. Dr. Stefanie Bröring, Dr. Vivian Peuker-Steinhäuser, Lev Kalishchuk

Lecture Period: From April 7, 2025

Format: Fully online, including final oral assessment (via remote examination only for UNIC students from abroad)

What You Will Learn:

This module equips students with the skills to transform technology-based ideas into viable business models.

Key topics include:

Fundamentals of Technology Entrepreneurship: Key terms, concepts, and strategic management principles.

Understanding Trends & Customer Needs: Forecasting techniques, trend analysis, and customer journey mapping.

Technology Development & Evaluation: Technology strategy, patent data analysis, and assessment methods.

Business Model Design: Technology-product-market matching, business model canvas, and value proposition strategies.

Learning Outcomes:

By completing this module, students will:

✔ Recognize the potential of technological inventions.

✔ Develop business models for technology-based innovations.

✔ Evaluate technologies using key indicators.

✔ Utilize patent and secondary data for competitive analysis.

Teaching Format: Online video lectures.

Assignments: Application of knowledge through independent coursework.

Examination: Final oral exam for RUB students in presence, for UNIC students from abroad online.

Bonus Points: Up to 25% bonus points available through additional assignments.
